2006: A two-hour documentary film about the California Gold Rush for the PBS series AMERICAN EXPERIENCE. Daguerreotypes starred in this epic story of the American Dream. As Associate Producer, Rossi directed the visual research and worked closely with private collectors from around the world, uncovering many never before seen photographs. Rossi collaborated with Producer/Director Randall MacLowry in creating a look for the recreation scenes that matched the tinted style of the cased photographs from the era. For his work on the film, Rossi was invited to be the keynote speaker at the Daguerrian Society’s Annual Symposium in 2006.
